Tim Pyles 2023 (web res)

I am a child of God, a disciple of Jesus, a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit, a husband of 37 years to Kim, a father to Hannah and Coleman, a father-in-law, a son, a brother, a friend, and a minister.

For the last 16 years I have served as the preaching minister for the Broken Arrow Church of Christ in suburban Tulsa, Oklahoma.  My years in ministry have also allowed me to serve with churches in Australia, Hawaii, Tennessee, Alabama, and Texas.  For nine years I served as the preaching minister for the McDermott Road church in Plano, Texas.  Evangelistic campaigns and mission trips have taken me to Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Scotland, England, Estonia, Ukraine, Honduras, Mexico, Nigeria and South Africa.  My parents served as missionaries in Liberia, West Africa, when I was a boy and that experience greatly influenced me toward a life in ministry.

Even after 40 years in ministry, I still feel like I am discovering what ministry is all about; still learning how to preach and teach; still learning how to share my life with Kim as a husband; still learning how to parent my children; still learning what it means to “live life to the full.”  God has seen me through some struggles and has led me through some darkness in my life, and I look forward to sharing my mind and my heart through this blog.

Beyond being a husband, father, and minister, I enjoy college football (mostly SEC), the NBA (mostly Mavs), Classic Rock, genealogical research, church history, golf, and the beach.  I have dreams and aspirations to do things I have never done before.  We’ll see!
